Key and Coin Bowl

Bugbug and dardar decided to give the School of Hardknocks at Royal Selangor, Clarke Quay a try after getting to know of the class from one of our visits to Clarke Quay and in the website...

We have no idea on how the knocking session gonna be as we are only aware that there must be some knocking involved as that is what the school is named after....

Jz hop in and experience it!! - that's the attitude we bring with us on that day.

1st thing 1st, we will need to inform the staff at Royal Selangor gallery that we are interested in the School of HardKnocks and the class cost SGD30 for a duration of 30-45 minutes.

First we are given an apron (complimentary from Royal Selangor) which spells School of HardKnocks. We were each given a set of tools including a sheet of pewter (jz below the apron in the white paper plastic - as it is hard to detect from the picture).

In addition, we were also each given a set of alphabet to enable us to craft our name and our desired namings onto the pewter sheet.

And off we go....after 30 seconds of "wat to write" and "where" we decided to go with our heart...

On the right is bugbug's creation on the pewter sheet.

On the left is dardar's creation on the pewter sheet.

After much excitement and knocking, at the end of the day, we are both given each a certificate, a handmade pewter bowl formed from the pewter sheet, a complimentary coins from the "pokok ufti during Malacca's era.

Overall, it was a memorable experience and sure we are looking forward to our future classes in other places - which will further compliment our new HOME...

Cross stitch

Dar finally down to work on whichever tat interest dar after so long...

Have bought this picture for quite some time but haven't got the time and effort to put the strings into the cloth...btw, it is suppose to be a lucky bag..but after much hesitation, dar decided to convert the bag into a wall hung "picture"...

Really really hope it will add warmth to our new home and at its designated location - in between the toilet wall and the arch door....

P/s : not sure why the photo keep flipping to potrait...probably due to the layout...it does give u a better idea should you tilt ur head to the left :)

Sketches....

With everything coming to a pleasant closure...we are now in the midst of organising the house and planning the furnitures layout...

In order to get a clearer picture of the where and how, dar decided to use her infamous lousy sketches...as ppl says, a picture speaks a thousand words....haha....

A person who always gain pity from the Arts teacher, dar decided to give her shot of what she have learn from the designing school. obviously dar is not as good as the designers...but manage to steal a few stance and put them into "good" use here...

so what do you think?? dar's lame sketches...

Comfie & Huggie Floor Plan

Bugbug goggle-d Comfie & Huggie's Floor Plan .. Surprisingly we found one that is close to our 3RM (Improved) floor plan. Dimension should be the same, bugbug hope... The only thing missing was the utility room...but since we had most of the measurements done, there should not be a problem... :)

Our First Purchase at IKEA Alexander

It was an unplanned escape to Ikea Alexandra on a plain Sunday late morning. We were relunctant to leave the house as we see that it is "steaming" hot outside. Nevertheless, we need to give up to our hunger for meal a.k.a. food.

So off we go in search for a place to have our brunch and that is when we came up with IKEA...famous for its chicken wing and my favourite spagetthi...unfortunately, today we dont plan to have these 2 must-haves....we opted for sometin more sinful...chicken leg with brocolli and mashed potato...yumyum....

After a filling brunch with "Q of a-mile long" - as define by one ang moh...we finally head to a good start on our browsing experience.

There are so many furnitures to look at...and some of them were way out of our budget. Nevertheless, the more we come to browse and search the more we realise the "SALES" words...hhmmm...when is the sales?? ~~~NOW~~~ LAST DAY TODAY~~~but it is not time yet to buy those heavy and bulky furnitures...the key is still yet to be obtained...1st & 2nd appointment is still a few more months to go...

Thus we can only manage those small items that we can manage to slip into out tiny common room which we have rented for almost 2 years...

so we ended buying a bedside table, a standing lamp, a bed tray and a mirror...i'm so very happy with our purchase and have been enjoying the bed tray ever since...
