Bugbug and dardar decided to give the School of Hardknocks at Royal Selangor, Clarke Quay a try after getting to know of the class from one of our visits to Clarke Quay and in the website...
We have no idea on how the knocking session gonna be as we are only aware that there must be some knocking involved as that is what the school is named after....
Jz hop in and experience it!! - that's the attitude we bring with us on that day.
1st thing 1st, we will need to inform the staff at Royal Selangor gallery that we are interested in the School of HardKnocks and the class cost SGD30 for a duration of 30-45 minutes.
First we are given an apron (complimentary from Royal Selangor) which spells School of HardKnocks. We were each given a set of tools including a sheet of pewter (jz below the apron in the white paper plastic - as it is hard to detect from the picture).
In addition, we were also each given a set of alphabet to enable us to craft our name and our desired namings onto the pewter sheet.
And off we go....after 30 seconds of "wat to write" and "where" we decided to go with our heart...
On the right is bugbug's creation on the pewter sheet.
On the left is dardar's creation on the pewter sheet.
After much excitement and knocking, at the end of the day, we are both given each a certificate, a handmade pewter bowl formed from the pewter sheet, a complimentary coins from the "pokok ufti during Malacca's era.
Overall, it was a memorable experience and sure we are looking forward to our future classes in other places - which will further compliment our new HOME...
